Dear patient, we now perform three laboratory tests to help us deliver personalized care to you based on your genetic make-up and microbes present in your oral cavity. Here's a brief description of the tests:
Oral Cancer:
The OraRisk HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) test determines if you have HPV, and are at an increased risk for HPV related oral and throat cancers. We recommend this test once per year at a cost of $89.00.
Periodontal (Gum) Disease:
MyPerloPath is a diagnostic tool for periodontal disease. It determines if you have the bacteria in your mouth that specifically causes the disease. If so, you may need antibiotic/periodontal therapy and more frequent recall visits. MyPerioPath is recommended as a baseline, and for patients who show signs of gum disease. This test is $115.00.
MyPerioID PST:
Determines if you have a gene in your DNA that may contribute to severe gum disease, tooth loss and even heart disease. PST is a once in a lifetime test recommended as a baseline, and for patients who show early signs of gum disease. Gum disease can be treated and prevented. This test is $115.00.
